Beyoncé's was the lead singer of the singing group Destiny's Child, which her father, Mathew Knowles managed and her mother, Tina Knowles designed the glittering costumes. Solange Knowles, her sister has released three albums and danced with her big sister during DC-3 concerts.

Before her trio became Destiny's Child they were known as Girls Tyme and her group was discovered by Whitney Houston.

She wrote and produced many of the group's songs.

Beyoncé married Jay-Z on April 4 2008 and they remain together.

She has toured with Christina Aguilera and TLC as their opening act.

Her biggest hit to date is song Single Ladies.

She performed at a South African AIDS benefit show in November 2003, organized by Bono of U2 to combat the AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa.
