A New Face of Fashion

Talia Broederlow is one of the new faces Norrie spotted at Fashion Week 2009. Walking in her first show could be the start of an international career for the leggy brunette from the North Shore. With a blend of German, Samoan, Sri Lankan, Dutch and other European, Talia has an amazing exotic look that sees her cast from Maori to Japanese. We'll keep an eye out for her on the international catwalks.
D. Mark Harrison. What’s making you happy in your life right now?
Talia Broederlow. I'm really happy that I got a show this year in fashion week because it was my first year casting for it and with all of the gorgeous, tall girls and the hot international models I didn't think I'd have a chance getting a show!
D.M.H. What’s your thing that makes Auckland cool for you?
T.B. I absolutely love how much character Auckland has! I love the crazy people you come across while walking down Queen Street day and night. It makes Auckland a little bit quirky because of the different ways people express themselves with the use of fashion, buskers and even the preachers! It makes Auckland cool for me because it's always extraordinary!
D.M.H. If you could choose and go live in a Sister City for Auckland where would you choose and why?
T.B. The most awesome sister city for Auckland would be Athens, Greece. I love architecture and Athens definitely has amazing structures which are filled with so much history. Santorini also has phenomenal views and amazing weather!! If you're lucky you might be able to find a Greek god or two...
D.M.H. What would be the hardest thing about Auckland for you to quit?
T.B. The hardest thing about Auckland for me to quit would of course be leaving my family and friends. But thanks to the Internet and Facebook it's so much easier to find out what everyone is doing with themselves. Oh, how I love technology!
D.M.H. What’s your creative talent?
T.B. My creative talent is dancing and choreography. I've been dancing since the ripe old age of two doing ballet and many other types of dance; I haven't stopped since then! Dance has helped me in so many ways like keeping fit. In sport it helped me get flexible while I did pole vaulting and if a photographer wanted me to do an 'abstract' pose I would be ready to go!
D.M.H. What in life is beautiful to you right now?
T.B. In life my friends and family are always beautiful to me. Also Auckland's weather (when it's decent!) I'm currently looking forward to a beautiful kiwi summer with my friends and family. Beaches, parties and fun.. Living the dream in the summer time!!
