Sera Lilly is one of the hottest ready-to-wear labels in New Zealand. Her designs have featured in magazines such as Black, RUSSH, Metro, Simply You, FQ Men, FQ Beauty, Fashion Quarterly, Pavement, Pulp, Mindfood, Remix, Next, Cleo, Woman’s Day, Viva and Canvas. Her designs have also featured in campaigns for Overland shoes, Mi Piaci shoes, Rodney Wayne hair salons and Whittaker’s chocolate.
Following her very successful first solo show at Air New Zealand Fashion week in September 2008, Australian Fashion Trend magazine wrote – “Lilly’s most recent solo showing at ANZFW with a new focus on dresses and a bridal range, marks a new season in a most impressive trajectory. World, watch out”.
Sera’s design philosophy includes a commitment to excellent cut and fit as well as a high quality finish to each garment. Inspiration for her designs truly reflect her love of fabric and her desire for feminine clothes that flatter the female body, and perhaps more importantly, are wearable. Her eye for detail and great fabric selection, combined with this design commitment, has enabled Sera to successfully develop her business and she continues to grow a loyal following.
Although a strong observer of current fashion trends, a Sera Lilly design is not simply driven by these trends, it is a reflection of Sera’s interpretation and desire to create her own unique place within the fashion industry.
