Robert Pattinson tops World's Sexiest Man poll

Robert Pattinson has beaten off competition from his Twilight co-star Taylor Lautner to be named the World's Sexiest Man.

Pattinson, 24, plays dreamy vampire Edward Cullen in the popular film series and came top of the new poll that was carried out by Glamour.com.

Actors Johnny Depp and Gerard Butler were kept out of the top five of the poll by the new breed of 'vampire' actors.

Lautner, 18, came in second place while Ian Somerhalder, star of The Vampire Diaries, came third.

In fourth and fifth place was Twilight Saga hotties Xavier Samuel and Kellan Lutz respectively.

Other stars in the top ten included Depp, Justin Bieber, Butler and Hayden Christensen with Channing Tatum at number ten.

Charlotte Duck, Glamour.com's acting editor, said: "Women are attracted to vampires because of the element of danger that comes with them. They are the ultimate bad boy - and women want to tame the beast within."
