Rapper Ludacris gets new gig as US talk-show host

US rapper Ludacris showed off a new look as he took over for a day as the host of a US daytime TV show.

The hip-hop star wore a smart grey suit and pastel-coloured tie as he hosted Live With Regis And Kelly on US TV this morning.

Ludacris, real name Chris Bridges, also extended a rare honour to co-host Kelly Ripa, saying: "The rest of the world calls me Ludacris, but you can call me Chris. Just you and my Mamma."

Kelly joked: "This is the coolest I've felt in my whole life."

For his new TV gig, the Atlanta-born star interviewed Ugly Betty actress America Ferrera, who told him: "I'm such a huge fan of yours, I'm so excited! You're my go-to karaoke song."
