Prince and George Michael on Glee creator's wish list
Glee creator Ryan Murphy has set his sites on two of the eighties' biggest pop stars and is hoping to feature the music of Prince and George Michael on the hit show.
"I want to do something on Prince. I love Prince. I think he is just a genius, and I would love to feature him and his music on the show," Murphy said.
“Everything about him is dreamy and fantastic, and more than that, he meant a great deal to my life growing up. So I'm saying, 'Prince, help me out'."
As for the former Wham star, Murphy conceded: "I don't think George Michael will be on per se, but I'm a huge fan of George Michael and I love his music...so we are gonna do something with George Michael's music," he told E Online.
The work of Madonna, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears has taken centre-stage previously.
But producers say celebrity guest spots won't become an overly frequent distraction from the show's characters.
"We'll probably just do one or [two] tribute episodes each season. We're really trying to make this season about the intimacy of the characters," executive producer Brad Falchuk said.
"We want to get into it with the characters, get to know them better and dig deeper into those people, because we love them so much."
