Oliver Stone's Wall Street sequel pushed back

Oliver Stone has pushed back the release date of his Wall Street sequel to September.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps starring Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf will now debut on September 24 instead of the original release date of April 23.

Trade daily Variety tied the news to the likelihood of a Cannes Film Festival invitation. Cannes runs from May 12 to 23. But 20th Century Fox would offer no comment.

Douglas will step into his old shoes as Gordon Gekko, joined by newcomer and Oscars nominee Carey Mulligan (pictured) and Josh Brolin.
