Nigella Lawson invites the Pope to dinner

Nigella Lawson says she'd be chuffed to have the Pope around to her house for a nibble.

The Domestic Goddess made the offer after it was revealed her TV series are now playing to an ecclesiastical audience.

Lawson said she was proud that her television shows are being aired alongside the mostly religious-themed programmes on Vatican TV, the channel of the Holy See, in Rome.

When the Pope visits the UK next week, the 50-year-old cook says she is keen to give Pope Benedict a first-hand demonstration of culinary craft.

"I'll feed anyone, if I can feed anyone I’m happy," Lawson told the Daily Express.

"So if he wants to come over to me on his Pope mobile, then I'll cook."
