Nicki Minaj joins the cast of Ice Age 4

US rapper Nicki Minaj has joined the cast of Ice Age 4: Continental Drift.

The 28-year-old hip-hop star will lend her vocal talents to the fourth instalment in the prehistoric film franchise, according to Variety.

She joins Jennifer Lopez and Drake, who have already been cast in the animated flick.

Minaj also confirmed that she is going to make a guest appearance in the third season of the Family Guy spin-off cartoon, Cleveland.

Ice Age: Continental Drift is set to be released in July 2012.
