Nick Lachey puts Bel Air pad back on the market

Nick Lachey has put his Bel Air mansion on the market – for the second time.

The US singer first put his home up for sale a year ago, but took it off the market two months later, despite receiving a number of offers.

Following his recent engagement to actress Vanessa Minnillo, the MTV star has now put the house back on the market again for $5.995m, according to Zillow.com.

The house is being sold through estate agents Hilton & Hyland and the company’s listing agent, Mauricio Umansky, has revealed that Lachey took his home off the market not because of the amount of the offers, but because he wasn’t really ready to sell it.

But now that he and Minnillo are engaged and reportedly planning a wedding that will be televised on TLC, the 37-year-old star is ready to let go of his luxury home.

Umansky said: “Now he’s engaged officially, and he’s getting married officially and are thinking about starting a family. They want to be bi-coastal and I think they want the East Coast to be their primary residence.”

According to Umansky, Lachey bought the Bel Air pad from supermodel Heidi Klum and singer Seal in 2006 for $5m.

Umansky also revealed that when Lachey bought the four-bedroom, 4,722sq ft property, it hadn’t been updated since its construction in 1960. The 98 Degrees singer cosmetically remodelled the whole house, and updated the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as adding bachelor pad touches such as sports memorabilia and a pool table.

Outside, Umanksy says Lachey completely built up the pool and entertainment area from scratch, adding a new pool, Jacuzzi, barbecue and outdoor dining area, each surrounded by nearly 360-degree views.

Those surrounding vistas are the best part of the home, said Umanksy, adding: “It is really one of the top 10 view properties in Los Angeles.”
