Miranda Kerr has revealed she named her son after an ex-boyfriend.

Baby Flynn Christopher was named after Kerr's childhood sweetheart Christopher Middlebrook, who died in a tragic car accident when he was just a teenager.

Speaking to Australia's Daily Telegraph, Kerr said: "After he died, I wrote him a letter that said I hoped to name my first child after him in some way.

"I told Orlando and he was the one who said he'd be happy to do that."

Kerr then praised Flynn's father, actor Orlando Bloom, for being a 'good guy'.

Born on the 6th of January 2011, Flynn Christopher is the couple's first child together.
