Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split

Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend of more than a year, Liam Hemsworth, have gone their separate ways, it has been confirmed.

A representative for the Australian hunk confirmed to People that the couple, who met filming The Last Song in 2009, had split.

Break-up rumours have been circulating for months. The Hannah Montana star addressed the speculation in June, writing on her web site that the duo were “so happy.”

Earlier this year the 17-year-old performer opened up about their romance, explaining: "I'm not really a big lovey person. I'm not, like, mushy. [But] Liam was the first person that made me want to be in a real relationship.”
