Lindsay Lohan visits a homeless shelter

Actress Lindsay Lohan visited a homeless shelter to 'give back' - just days after being released from jail.

The Mean Girls star spent some time with homeless teenagers yesterday at the Dream Centre in Los Angeles.

Lohan, 24, who was released from jail on bail this weekend, went to the shelter with her mother Dina, sister Ali and business manager Lou Taylor.

Lindsay signed autographs and posed for pictures with the children and families, according to E!Online.com.

The star tweeted: "What a great place The Dream Centre is here in LA... had a nice time there today, it is so important to give back. I feel blessed."

Lohan is reportedly going to check herself into rehab soon after her brief time in custody on Friday.
