Lindsay Lohan begged to be released from jail, her lawyer says

Lindsay Lohan begged her lawyer to get her out of jail after being put behind bars on Friday, her attorney has revealed.

Shawn Chapman Holley has spoken to CNN about the moment the troubled actress was refused bail for failing a court-ordered drugs test.

"She just locked eyes with me," the 48-year-old says about seeing her client in a holding cell.

Chapman Holley tells CNN that the 24-year-old said to her: "Promise me you're going to get me out of here."

At which point the lawyer says she told her client: "I promise you."

Chapman Holley then describes racing against time to file an appeal to reverse the judgement and free Lohan that night.

"From there I just put on my rocket shoes," she says.

Chapman Holley appealed to the Los Angles Superior Court in writing saying: "There is no question that Ms Lohan is entitled to bail while the alleged probation violation is being adjudicated."

According to CNN the lawyer then raced to the Criminal Courts Building in Downtown Los Angeles as everyone was leaving.

She went before Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg who set bail for the actress at $300,000.
