Lindsay Lohan back in rehab

Lindsay Lohan has checked back into rehab, according to US reports.

The former Mean Girls star, who spent just 15 hours behind bars on Friday, has reportedly entered a live-in treatment facility in southern California, where she will stay until her next court date on 22 October.

The 24-year-old actress was sent back to jail on Friday, after she failed a court-ordered drug test and thereby violated the terms of her probation.

Judge Elden Fox denied Lohan bail and is reported to have said that he wanted her locked up until her next court hearing.

But after a scrambled appeal by Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, LA County Assistant Supervising Judge Patricia Schnegg overturned the decision and granted Lohan $300,000 bail. Under the terms of her release, Lohan has to again wear a SCRAM device – an ankle bracelet that monitors drugs and alcohol levels in the body.

She is not allowed to be around known drug users and must submit to searches by law enforcement at any time.

She must also stay away from nightclubs, having been ordered to avoid places where alcohol is the “chief item of sale”.
