Liam Hemsworth waits while Miley Cyrus shops in Sydney, Australia

Miley Cyrus kept boyfriend Liam Hemsworth waiting for an hour as she spent AUD$500 on Tibetan and Nepalese items, including brightly-coloured bolsters and cushions 'fit for a pop princess's boudoir'.

Miley and Liam visited Sydney's Ganapati store (named after the Indian god, Ganesh) on Monday afternoon.

Liam stood waiting in a corner as Miley shopped with girlfriends from her Gypsy Heart world tour entourage.

Miley, in a leopard-print scarf and green cardigan, laughed and giggled as she wandered around the store, pointing out items she wanted to buy.

At one point, she pointed out an exotic candleholder shaped like a snake to her Aussie boyfriend who did his best to look interested.

Shop owner Sarala Manandhar, 35, said she had the 'shock of her life' when Miley walked in, completely unexpectedly, at about 3pm.

The mother of two said her daughters, Maya, 11, and Tara, nine, would be 'so gutted' not to have met their idol.

"My girls watch Hannah Montana every night," Sarala said.

"They will be so gutted to have missed Miley, they were at school."

The Australian leg of Miley's Gypsy Heart world tour begins in Brisbane on June 21.
