Lea Michele could star in Dirty Dancing remake

Glee actress Lea Michele is rumoured to have been lined up for a star role in the Dirty Dancing movie remake.

The 24-year-old, who is set to leave the hit musical-comedy show at the end of the next series, has been rumoured for the role of Frances 'Baby' Houseman, which was originally played by Jennifer Grey, while professional dancer Derek Hough could be set to star as Patrick Swayze's character Johnny Castle in the remake of the 1987 flick, according to MovieWeb.com.

But Lea could face competition from stars such as Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus as they have also been linked to the role of Frances.

The film is set to be released in 2013.
