Lady Gaga receives US fashion icon award

Pop superstar Lady Gaga has been presented with the fashion icon prize at this year's Council of Fashion Designers of America award ceremony.

The Judas singer, who is known for her outrageous outfits, was awarded the gong for 'being a fashion revolutionary', the CFDA said.

Gaga, 25, real name Stefani Germanotta, told the audience: "All of you made me feel like a star before I was."

There were also prizes for designer Marc Jacobs and photographer Arthur Elgort at last night's event, held at New York's Lincoln Center.
