Lady Gaga debuts 'panda eyes' on Japanese TV
For most women 'panda eyes' are not normally a good look - but it seems Lady Gaga has turned it into a fashion statement.
Rather than waking up in last night's mascara, the quirky pop star appeared to have used face paint to create the dramatic circles around her eyes.
Gaga caused something of a stir as she debuted her latest bizarre look - aptly during an appearance on Japanese TV.
The breakfast show presenters clapped and cheered excitedly as the singer removed her oversized shades to reveal her extravagant make-up.
Gaga, 25, showed off her eccentric face paint during an appearance on Japanese talk show Sukkiri.
Wearing a black and white dress, with a deconstructed xylophone motif down the front, the Poker Face singer revealed her outfit had been made by a Japanese designer.
And asked about the concept behind her look, the singer removed her sunglasses and revealed her black eyes.
"I really like pandas," she declared, before joking: "I’ve been eating a lot of bamboo this week."
The singer claimed she had decided upon the animal look as a tribute to her 'little monster' fan base.
"Pandas have paws and I always tell my fans to put their paws up," she explained.
Gaga’s interview was conducted through a translator.
