Kara DioGuardi trying to quit American Idol

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi has been trying to quit the hit TV show for months, according to US reports.

The Idol star still has not heard from producers about whether she will be back on the next series of the talent competition, according to E!

The show is in transition following the departure of Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres, with no new line-up yet announced.

“She went to FOX two months ago and told them she didn’t want to do another season. She did two years and thinks that’s enough,” an insider told E!

DioGuardi remains under contract to the show and cannot look for a new job until she is released.
