Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga in Saturday Night Live season finale

Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga had US television viewers in stitches as they took part in a string of hilarious sketches on Saturday Night Live.

The duo showed they were game for a laugh as they donned a number of extravagant costumes for the series finale of the hit entertainment show.

While Timberlake, 30, dressed as a giant beer bottle, Gaga wore a grape dress and carried giant wine glasses as they pretended to advertise a bar.

It was, however, Timberlake’s musical number with Gaga, 25, and SNL regular Andy Samberg that stole the show.

Timberlake and Samberg were joined by Gaga to perform a comedy number called "It’s ok when it’s in a three-way".

The spoof music video saw the trio frolicking on a bed, wearing 80s-style clothes and dancing provocatively for the camera.
