Jake Gyllenhaal finds brotherhood in co-star Tobey Maguire
Jake Gyllenhaal, 29, found friendship and camaraderie in his on-screen brother, Tobey Maguire.
The pair starred in Brothers – as brothers. The movie, which also stars Natalie Portman, tells the story of a man who comforts the wife and children of his brother after he goes missing in Afghanistan.
Gyllenhaal said of Maguire: "We'd work out together, we'd play basketball together. Not only is he a great actor, he's also a great producer in some ways. He's 100 per cent always involved."
The experience has left Gyllenhaal, who is brother to actress Maggie, committed to projects where the rapport is tangible. He explained: "I don't believe any more I can make a movie when I don't care – about the other people in the process. I don't think I'm any good when I don't interact."
