It's tricky being an older actress, says Geena Davis

Geena Davis, 54, has spoken about the challenges actresses face as they get older in finding compelling parts to play.

In Australia to promote her new movie Accidents Happen, which was shot in Sydney, Davis told The Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I’ve always been really fussy and have averaged one or two years anyway between films.”

Discussing the trouble actresses face to find interesting roles, Davis said: “It just gets harder you know once you pass 40, there are just fewer great parts. I like to be challenged, you know, I like to do something unusual. Before this, I went from an amnesiac assassin to the parent of a rodent and then this mother."
