Dina Lohan gives parenting advice in time for Mother's Day
When it comes to getting into 'mischief' Lindsay Lohan is a 'late bloomer,' according to her mother Dina.
The 48-year-old's comments are published on a website as the US prepares to celebrate Mother's Day on May 8.
Lohan has two sons and two daughters with her ex-husband Michael - Lindsay, 24, Michael Jr, 23, Ali, 17, and Dakota, 14.
But even though the troubled actress has been accused of theft, arrested more than once for driving under the influence, served time behind bars and is currently doing community service for violating her probation, her mother says she was a good girl when she was growing up.
Lohan tells TheDailyBeast.com: "The boys got into more mischief.
"Lindsay, I'm trying to think... she was always good in school and was like my little buddy. She never really got into too much mischief young. She was a late bloomer."
Speaking about being in the spotlight Lohan, who helps to manage her daughter's career, says: "Just be there for your child, and if you see signs that they're doing things they shouldn't be doing, get them help."
Lohan - who divorced Lindsay’s father in 2007 - says: "The secret to single parenting is to just teach them what you can teach them...
"And you pray that instils in them for the rest of their life. You let them go, and if they fall, you're there to pick them up."
