David Tennant pulls out of West End show

Former Doctor Who star David Tennant has been forced to pull out of a West End production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing this week after losing his voice, according to reports.

The 40-year-old British actor missed two shows on Monday and Tuesday after falling ill.

Understudy Alex Beckett has been playing Benedick opposite Catherine Tate's Beatrice in Tennant’s absence.

The play at London's Wyndham's Theatre is due to end this Saturday.
