Cheryl Cole checking out of marital digs

Tiny Cheryl Cole, still reeling from the collapse of her marriage to football star Ashley, is moving on out and up.

The pop star, who pulled the plug on her four-year marriage after a sex-texting scandal, is on the hunt for new luxury digs, the UK Mirror reports.

It claims Cheryl's people have already viewed two properties in Surrey. A source close to her said: "Cheryl does not want the separation to be drawn out over a long period of time. She wants to find somewhere quickly in order for her to gain stability in her home life and become settled once again. If she can't find somewhere she likes to buy she will consider moving into rented accommodation in the short term."

The newspaper notes she earns £1.2million ($1.8million) a year for The X Factor and £2.4 million in ad deals.

It quotes another source saying: "The [Coles's] house is really the main asset to be decided upon and Cheryl clearly wants to ensure she is properly recompensed in that regard. It’s a real shame as she did love that house and has some great memories there but of late they have been soured by what’s gone on and she firmly believes a new start is what’s needed."
