Avatar star Sam Worthington to play cop in Texas Killing Fields movie

Blazing Australian star Sam Worthington will star in Texas Killing Fields, it was revealed.

A US trade report confirmed the buzz that Worthington – who starred in Avatar – will play the part of one of two detectives who blew the lid off a series of gruesome murders in Texas.

Ami Canaan Mann will direct the film version of the true-life mystery that involved the murders and disappearances of as many as 60 people in the industrial wastelands of the Gulf Coast.

Worthington's cop partner will be a New York transplant in what should make for some on-screen dramatic chemistry.
