Anna Wintour rolled her eyes at Lady Gaga's pre-show "God" rituals.

The famous Vogue editor, 60, appeared on US TV show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday and told the audience about an incident with Gaga, 24, that happened at this year's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala.

She told Fallon: "We had Lady Gaga this year.

"There was a moment when she was communing with God and she was praying in the back, waiting for God to tell her it was all right to go actually onstage."

The Bad Romance singer's chat with God seemed to anger the fashion queen.

She added: "Fortunately he gave her the message after 45 minutes."

Jimmy jokingly replied: "I always talk to God, too - whenever he says I can start the show.

"He books a lot of acts in New York City."
