Alexandra Richards gives out of touch dad Keith an iPad

Rolling Stones legend and self-confessed technophobe Keith Richards has been given an iPad and loves playing chess on the must-have gadget, his daughter Alexandra has revealed.

The 25-year-old DJ and model, who was in Sydney to promote a fashion event, says she gave her rocker dad the device for Father’s Day in a bid to bring him into the 21st century.

“It’s amazing that someone that is so a part of this world is out of this world,” she told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper.

“He doesn’t have a [mobile] phone, he still sends faxes, he’s so out of touch.

“But he’s always there when I need him.”

She added: “It’s so strange to me and probably everyone else because I can’t be without my BlackBerry for ten seconds.

“My whole life is in that thing.”

Talking about her father’s newly discovered passion for the device, she added: “He loves it, I think he’s addicted.

“He loves playing chess and the applause that sounds when he wins.”

Alexandra also revealed that she was last visited Sydney at the age of 16, when the Rolling Stones were on tour.

“I got my ears pierced on Bondi Beach and thought I was wild,” she giggled.
