The future of beauty

Well here we are in 2010. No flying cars or elixir of youth yet, but despite this we are making leaps and bounds in the field of beauty. Non-invasive cosmetic procedures continue to improve in efficacy and safety and are growing in popularity, and skincare advancements have seen a new wave of "cosmeceuticals" hit shelves (more about these later). This is all very thrilling for a beauty obsessed individual such as myself, so you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled over the Latisse® website.

Not yet available in New Zealand (but hopefully we won't have long to wait), Latisse® enhances natural eyelash growth over eight to sixteen weeks with a once daily application to the base of the lashes. This is no gimmick, the active ingredient is FDA approved, has been proven to work safely, and proper clinical trials have been undertaken. I have seen these results with my own eyes on an American client of mine who uses the product on a regular basis. Her eyelashes are so unbelievably thick, dark and long, at first I thought she had false eyelashes or eyelash extensions on.

Latisse® will be a prescription only product (as it is in the States), developed by Allergan who brought us Botox® and Juvéderm®. I am eagerly anticipating it's arrival. Imagine never having to use mascara or false lashes again. Genius.
