Beauty Update

Well summer has departed, but there are still so many gorgeous products and colours around to continue that summer holiday feeling (which I am reluctant to let go of). My obsession with beauty products seems never ending! There is nothing more exciting than unwrapping new goodies and using them for the first time.... It is also noted that during a recession, women are more likely to splurge on small luxury items like a lipstick, rather than a pricey new item of clothing, so lets embrace that theory and head to the cosmetics department.

  • I ventured in the M.A.C store in St Lukes today in need of a little treat, and found just what I needed in the form of their new Hello Kitty for M.A.C collection. For those of you who know Hello Kitty you will fall in love with the cutesy packaging, and the range of colours are to die for. I picked up a few lip products in stunning peachy pink tones, and a hot pink blusher that gives the most amazing soft glow. These limited edition products always sell out fast so get in quick for your fix.

  • If you are even slightly interested in skincare, make up and cosmetics, then there is one book you MUST read. "Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me" by Paula Begoun will change the way you shop for your products. Paula reviews and tests thousands of products on the market, and debunks many cosmetics myths whilst doing so. Look up your current products to see if they are actually as good as they say they are, or if you're shopping for new skincare or make up, don't buy a thing without consulting this book first. Her first book "The Beauty Bible" is also an excellent read. Available at most good book stores.

  • Don't forget to keep your skin protected by using a good sunscreen, despite the sun fading on us as we get into the cooler months. This is vital year round, so aim to use it every day. UVA rays (the nasty aging ones) come right through clouds, so even exposure on an overcast day can be doing damage to your skin. I've been using a fantastic Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF45 sunscreen under my foundation, it is very light and comfortable on the skin, and the tinted version is great to avoid that white ghostly look. It's also excellent on it's own to protect the skin and give a nice subtle colour.

"It's been a great weekend here in Kyalami and I really enjoyed taking part in 'Miss TW Steel'. I can't believe I've won and I'm obviously pretty excited to be going to London for the first time inmcitp dumps summer to compete, and represent South Africa, in the grand final.""Amy was a popular choice with the judges and her joy at winning was fairly evident," said TW Steel's Chief Executive Officer, Jordy Cobelens. "The crowd was really getting into the sprit of the oracle certification dumps event here at Kyalami which was fantastic to see and I think everyone, from the finalists, the judges and the fans, had a great time. South Africa is an important market for TW Steel, retailing in every province, so it was good to build on our brand awareness in support of our partnership with A1GP."
