Things get done in Sydney
After what turned out to be Bahrains most ridiculous Christmas family brunch at the Golden Tulip Hotel resulting in yours truly getting kicked out of an Irish bar at 5pm, I dragged myself through Bahrain International Airport, Sydney bound. 24 hours, a sleep on an airport floor and 5 hours of gossip girl later, I was finally back on the right side of the world!
I'm obviously not going to bore you with details, but I thought I'd share a couple of the places that we visited over the blur that was the new year period.
WORLD
To be honest I'm not exactly sure how we ended up in the Cross on a Monday night, but from what I remember it was pretty sweet. World has a sister bar in Queenstown NZ and of course we were already familiar with the teapot cocktails a la Cassette number nine. Its a shame they kick you out if they catch you drinking out of a teapot spout, but obviously there's a good reason for it, I have broken a few in my time!

FIELD DAY 2010
The Sydney Domain set the stage for an epic day of music at Field day 2010. Possibly the best day EVER, Fieldday hosted an insane lineup of artists including Amanda Blank, Proxy, 2manydjs, Fake Blood, Skream & Benga, The Presets and Major Lazer. By the time 2manydjs were on stage I was all out of puff but still managed to enjoy the set lying on the grass.
Creeping around
Obviously if you haven't done it before, drink too much at your hotel and make the trip to the Opera house. Getting kicked out of a bar in Circular Quay optional.
I must be honest and say that at the point that I arrived at Pocket in Darlinghurst I'd already sunk a bottle of wine on my own with a few friends at a BYO dinner, but I do know that this place is more than impressive. Pocket is basically a bar in a hole in a wall, which operates as a Cafe during daylight hours. Apparently the owner decorated the interior and I want him to do my bedroom. Unfortnately I don't have one at the moment...

Probably best if you don't go here.
